I’m a creative communicator who has been working in moving image for over two decades. I began writing and directing for theatre before moving to direct music video’s, commercials and short films. My early work was selected by The British Council, sold to Shorts TV, played at Tate Britain and selected for Melbourne International Film Festival Accelerator Programme.
Throughout this period I have been a facilitator of practical video training programmes, and was fortunate enough to come into contact with Denise Rose and the amazing work she was doing with her organisation Mouth That Roars, empowering young adults to tell stories of their often ignored lives.
This lead me to help facilitate the yearly BFI Young Peoples Film and Video Training Programme at Mouth That Roars, where Denise could be seen passionately encouraging young people to tell stories no matter how slight, non conventional or obscure. Her passion was infectious, so when approached to help produce her first narrative short film, my mind was made up before the script even hit my inbox .
Having pivoted to working as a first AD, I continue to help support the vision of Directors, both new and experienced alike.
